Prywatne Gimnazjum Nr 8 im. M. Reja w Krakowie

We are a Private School located in the centre of Cracow with about 260 students and 30 teachers. Our vision is to help the students develop as individuals through discovering their talents, interests and mastering their skills. Thus we promote intellectual curiosity and creative thinking by engaging the students in various extracurricular activities.

A lot of students are involved in organizing the theatre festival, which is held in our school every year: some of them are actors, others are costume and décor designers or musicians. We also successfully take part in interschool theatre competitions organized in our region (south Poland). Besides, the students attend regularly workshops in which they practise various types of theatrical forms.

Another area of our concern is to raise students’ interests in and respect towards other cultures. We often take part in international students’ exchanges (e.g. with France, Germany) or eTwinning projects (e.g. “Legends” – a project carried out with Portugal this year). Our students also help as volunteers to organize the Festival of Jewish Culture held in June in Krakow every year.

In our school we care for people around us who are in need. For many years we have been helping children from the orphanage in Sieborowice(a place near Krakow) in various ways. For example, students bake and sell cakes to collect money for Christmas presents for the children, collect warm clothes and stationery, organize a day out for them in the city centre, help them with school homework or simply come to them with a show and games.
